Arkansas Development Group Sued for Alleged Racial and Religious Discrimination in Land Purchase
A lawsuit has been filed in federal court against an Arkansas development group, Return to the Land, alleging racial and religious discrimination. The suit, brought by real estate broker Michelle Walker, claims she was denied the opportunity to purchase land due to her Jewish ancestry and her Black husband. The lawsuit accuses the group of attempting to establish an all-white community, violating federal and state fair housing and civil rights laws. Return to the Land is described as a white nationalist organization, with founders allegedly believing in the genetic superiority of white people and advocating for segregated white communities. Walker, who is white and Christian, applied to buy land in Ravenden, Arkansas, but was questioned about her ancestry and family during the application process.
