Norwich University Cadets Win Inaugural Patriot Games 'King of The Hill' Competition Against Other Military Colleges
Norwich University cadets secured first place in the inaugural Patriot Games 'King of The Hill' competition, a three-day event that tested the physical and tactical skills of teams from five senior military colleges. The competition, held in Northfield, Vermont, included a 15-mile canoe race, a 10-mile ruck march, a stress shoot, a hatchet throw, and an evacuation scenario on Paine Mountain. Six Norwich cadets—Maximus Compton ’27, Mason Dils ’28, Case MacDonald ’28, James Raymond ’28, Noah St. Germaine ’28, and Ally Teitsch ’29—represented the university. Virginia Military Institute placed second, followed by The Citadel, the University of North Georgia, and Texas A&M University. The event was largely designed and run by Norwich students, drawing inspiration from the 'Harry Potter' Triwizard Tournament.
