President Trump Expands Retirement Savings Access with New Executive Order
President Trump has signed an executive order to expand access to retirement savings accounts, targeting millions of American workers who lack employer-sponsored plans. The order establishes TrumpIRA.gov, a government website where individuals can compare private-sector retirement plans. This initiative complements the Federal Saver’s Match program, set to begin in 2022, which offers a match of up to $1,000 for lower-income workers. The administration aims to work with Congress to expand eligibility for the Saver’s Match to higher-income workers. The website, launching in January 2027, will allow all Americans to browse and enroll in 'high-quality, low-cost' IRA plans, particularly benefiting independent contractors, part-time workers, small business employees, and self-employed individuals.
