SAI's Regenerative Agriculture Framework Emphasizes Local Context for Global Standards
The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) has developed the Regenerating Together Programme to create a global framework for regenerative agriculture that can be adapted to local contexts. This initiative aims to standardize regenerative practices across various farming systems while considering the unique environmental and infrastructural conditions of each location. The program has been piloted in multiple countries, including Canada and the UK, with companies like Nestlé and Wildfarmed participating. The framework involves a four-step process: context analysis, outcome selection, practice adoption, and progress monitoring. This approach seeks to provide a unified yet flexible method for implementing regenerative agriculture worldwide.
