Egypt Deploys Fighter Jets to UAE Amid Rising Tensions with Iran
In a significant military move, Egypt has deployed Dassault Rafale fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to assist in defending against Iranian drone and missile strikes. This deployment marks the first time Egypt has stationed combat aircraft on UAE soil, reflecting a deepening military alliance between Cairo and Abu Dhabi. The deployment was confirmed during an unannounced visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the UAE, where he and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan inspected the Egyptian fighter unit. This action is part of a broader multinational effort to secure Emirati airspace, involving forces from the UAE, France, and the United States.
