Every Child Aspen to Parachute Appoints First Executive Director to Address Childcare Gaps
Every Child Aspen to Parachute, a childcare tax district in Colorado, has appointed Samantha Markovitz as its first executive director. The district aims to address gaps in childcare availability and funding in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys. Markovitz, who previously led childcare initiatives in Eagle County, will begin her role on July 27. Her initial focus will be on developing a targeted interim initiative to provide rapid, equitable impact, primarily by directing funds to established childcare providers. This approach is intended to quickly enhance quality and capacity while longer-term sustainable programs are developed. Markovitz emphasizes the importance of community engagement and plans to gather input from families, providers, and partners through surveys and focus groups before making investment decisions.
