Doctor Overcomes Alcohol Addiction, Now Aids Others in Recovery
Dr. Chris Schenewerk, a primary healthcare physician from St. Louis, Illinois, has shared his journey from heavy alcohol consumption to sobriety. Schenewerk, who began drinking at 14, found his habit escalating to the point where he was spending up to $3,000 a month on alcohol. Despite maintaining professionalism at work, his personal life suffered, leading to a destructive pattern of drinking. After a pivotal moment of self-realization, Schenewerk sought rehabilitation and has been sober since November 8, 2018. He now serves as the medical director of a recovery center and has founded The Walk Forward Foundation to assist those who cannot afford rehabilitation.
