FDA Orders Removal of 28 Cigarette Products from U.S. Market
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered the removal of 28 cigarette products manufactured by Seneca Manufacturing Co. from the U.S. market. These products, including various Heron and Sands cigarette varieties, were found not to meet federal requirements for continued sale. The FDA issued 'not substantially equivalent' orders, meaning these products can no longer be distributed, imported, sold, or marketed in the United States. Retailers have until May 23 to comply with the removal, after which enforcement actions may be taken.
