Former California CIO Liana Bailey-Crimmins Joins Center for Digital Government as Senior Fellow
Liana Bailey-Crimmins, who recently retired as California's Chief Information Officer (CIO), has joined the Center for Digital Government as a senior fellow. This announcement was made during the California Public Sector CIO Academy in Sacramento. Bailey-Crimmins concluded her public service career on April 6, after nearly four decades, including her role as the director of the California Department of Technology since 2022. Her career began in 1987 as a student assistant with the Department of Water Resources. She played a significant role in the state's digital response to the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025 and has been a strong advocate for responsible technology use. During the event, she was honored with an Excellence in Leadership Award for her contributions to public service.
