Peoria Nonprofit ART Inc. to Establish New Creative Maker Space
ART (Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow) Inc., a nonprofit organization in Peoria, has acquired a building at 1819 SW Adams St. to transform it into a creative maker space. According to ART Inc. co-founder Nikki Romain, the new facility will feature a film and media production studio, an art gallery, an event venue, and a creative workforce development center. The goal is to offer youth and community members opportunities to explore filmmaking, digital media, visual arts, entrepreneurship, and collaborative programming. This expansion builds on ART Inc.'s history, which began in 2018 as an after-school arts program and has since grown to include a wide range of services, such as academic enrichment, college and career readiness, community violence intervention, GED programs, and youth leadership development.
