Darlene (Orff) Hale Passes Away, Leaves Legacy of Faith and Family
Darlene Sharon Hale (Orff) passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2026. Born on June 2, 1945, in Rockland, Maine, Darlene was the youngest of twelve children. She was known for her strong faith and dedication to her family. Darlene graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1963, where she was a varsity basketball player. She married Thomas Hale in 1975, and together they built a life filled with travel and family adventures. Darlene worked as a systems specialist for the State of Maine, focusing on maintaining systems for the Maine State Prison. She was deeply involved in her community, serving at the Orff’s Corner Community Church and volunteering at St. Bernard’s Soup Kitchen. Darlene was also a talented musician, cook, and gardener. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and siblings, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.
