Proton VPN Launches Anti-Censorship Stealth Protocol for Linux Users
Proton VPN has introduced its Stealth protocol in beta for Linux users, enhancing its capabilities to bypass internet censorship. This protocol disguises VPN traffic as regular internet traffic, making it harder for restrictive networks to detect and block. Initially available for Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora distributions, the protocol is part of Proton VPN's effort to align its Linux offerings with those available on Windows and Mac. The company has responded to strong demand from the open-source community, emphasizing the importance of user feedback during this beta phase. The Stealth protocol aims to provide Linux users with a robust tool to evade deep packet inspection techniques used by authoritarian regimes and restrictive ISPs.
