Aiken County Educator Dr. Christie Palladino Named 2027 South Carolina Teacher of the Year
Dr. Christie Palladino, a biomedical science educator at the Aiken County Career and Technology Center, has been honored as the 2027 South Carolina State Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made by State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver during a celebration at the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion. The event was attended by Governor Henry McMaster, First Lady Peggy McMaster, and education leaders from across the state. Dr. Palladino, a 12-year teaching veteran, leads the biomedical science program at her school and has developed an innovative Biommersive Capstone Course. Her background includes a career as an obstetrician-gynecologist and extensive research in health science education, with over 100 peer-reviewed presentations and publications to her name.
