Lakeview Resident Sues Federal Government Over Immigration Raid
Leo Feler, a resident of Lakeview, Chicago, has filed a lawsuit against the federal government following an immigration raid on his property. The raid, part of 'Operation Midway Blitz,' occurred on October 24, 2025, and involved U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents detaining construction workers on Feler's property without a warrant. The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District Court of Illinois, accuses the agents of trespassing and negligence, seeking compensation for property damage and a declaration of Fourth Amendment rights violations. Feler claims the raid was conducted without reasonable suspicion of criminal activity, leaving him and his tenants feeling unsafe.
