China Merges Lunar Programs Amid Intensifying Moon Race with U.S.
China has announced the integration of its crewed and uncrewed lunar landing programs into a single mission, as the competition to send humans back to the moon intensifies. This announcement follows the successful launch of SpaceX's largest Starship by the U.S. The China Manned Space Agency aims to leverage decades of technical foundations and practical experience from its space programs, including the Chang’e lunar exploration missions. The agency emphasizes its commitment to the peaceful use of space, stating that its lunar exploration project is not a competition with other countries.
