Nigeria's Defense Minister Advocates ECOWAS-AES Security Alliance to Combat Terrorism
Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has called for a unified security alliance between the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) to address terrorism and cross-border criminal networks. During a visit to Cotonou, Benin, Musa emphasized the need for joint regional action to combat insurgency and secure the Gulf of Guinea. He was received by Benin's Minister of National Defence, Mr. Gildas Agonkan, who praised Nigeria's role in stabilizing the region. Musa's visit included meetings with Nigerian troops and discussions on enhancing troop welfare and operational effectiveness.
