Sicilian Police Seize 700,000 Euros Thrown Overboard from Stranded Boat
In a dramatic turn of events, Sicilian police have seized approximately 700,000 euros that were thrown into the sea by the occupants of a stranded motorboat near Marina di Ragusa. The boat, reportedly from Malta, ran out of fuel close to the coast. As coastguards arrived to assist, the remaining passengers on the boat began discarding bags filled with cash into the water. The bags, some of which were from a supermarket chain, were quickly retrieved by vacationers on the beach. Authorities are investigating the origin of the money, suspecting it may be linked to illegal activities.
