Katy Couple Charged in $3 Million Luxury Car Theft Ring
A couple from Katy, Dheyaa Abd and Iman Al Saedi, have been charged in connection with a sophisticated luxury car theft ring. According to court records, the couple is accused of stealing high-end vehicles valued at over $3 million by hacking into a commercial shipping database. This database is used to transport luxury cars across the United States. Investigators allege that Abd, Al Saedi, and two additional suspects altered the drop-off locations of these vehicles, allowing them to intercept and steal the cars. Houston police raided Abd's mechanic shop, where the alleged activities were centered. A judge, during their initial court appearance, stated that the couple and their associates were involved in a high-end theft ring where numerous vehicles were stolen via transport vehicles, and they hacked into a 'Central Database' to reroute shipments. Both Abd and Al Saedi remain in jail, and Houston police anticipate further arrests in the ongoing investigation.
