Central Appalachians to See Vibrant Fall Colors in 2026
The Farmers’ Almanac 2026 Fall Foliage Outlook predicts that the central Appalachians will experience the most vibrant fall colors in the United States this year. This region includes parts of West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, eastern Tennessee, western Virginia, and the higher elevations of North Carolina. Peak foliage is expected between October 12 and October 28 in the central Appalachians, while the southern Appalachians will see peak colors from October 18 to November 2.
