Senators Introduce Bill to Establish Office of Men's Health to Address Health Disparities
Senators Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Roger Marshall (R-KS) have introduced the State of Men's Health Act in the Senate, aiming to establish an Office of Men's Health within the Department of Health and Human Services. This initiative seeks to address the growing health crisis among men, who are experiencing higher mortality rates from preventable conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and mental health issues. The proposed office would coordinate research, education, and policy developments to improve men's health outcomes, similar to the existing Office of Women's Health. The bill also calls for a Government Accountability Office study on the state of men's health, highlighting the widening life expectancy gap between men and women.
