Kimberly Clark Warehouse Fire in Ontario Forces Firefighters to Retreat
A massive fire erupted at a Kimberly Clark paper products facility in Ontario, causing the warehouse roof to collapse and forcing firefighters to retreat. The fire, which started early Tuesday, consumed the 1.2-million square foot structure. Approximately 20 workers were inside the building when the fire was reported. The flames grew rapidly, overwhelming the firefighters who initially attempted to extinguish the blaze. The Ontario Fire Department, led by Deputy Chief Mike Wedell, reported that the fire was suspected to be arson, and one person has been taken into custody. The fire continued to burn as of 6:30 a.m., with fire trucks surrounding the building and pumping water to control the blaze.
