California State Assembly Passes Bill to Preserve Access to Video Games
The California State Assembly has passed Assembly Bill 1921, known as the Protect Our Games Act, which aims to preserve access to online games even after companies stop supporting them. The bill, introduced by Assembly Member Chris Ward, requires video game companies to provide advance notice before shutting down server-dependent games and to offer a way to keep purchased games playable. The bill now moves to the California State Senate for further consideration.
