SES Satellites to Enhance Brazil's Offshore Oil Production with Advanced Connectivity
SES has announced a partnership with Petrobras, Brazil's state-owned oil company, to provide connectivity services using its O3b mPOWER satellite network. This collaboration aims to support multiple new floating production, storage, and offloading systems (FPSOs) in Brazil's offshore oil fields. The O3b mPOWER network, operational since 2024, offers high-capacity, low-latency connectivity, ideal for the demanding environments of offshore oil production. The new FPSOs are expected to become operational between 2026 and 2030, addressing the growing energy demands in Brazil.
