Ohio's Sales Tax Holiday Underway with Significant Changes for Shoppers
Ohio's annual sales tax holiday is currently in effect, running through Sunday. This year, the event has been significantly shortened from 14 days to just 3 days. Additionally, the spending cap has been reduced, allowing for tax-free purchases of clothing items priced at $75 or less and school supplies and instructional materials priced at $20 or less. Notably, electronics, computers, restaurant meals, and general household items are excluded from the tax-free list. The Ohio Department of Taxation provides official guidelines for the event, which aims to offer financial relief to families preparing for the new school year.
