Dallas ISD Launches Extended School Year Program for 20 Campuses
The Dallas Independent School District (ISD) has commenced an extended school year program for 20 of its campuses, including 13 elementary schools and seven middle schools. The initiative, approved by the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees, aims to enhance academic success by providing students with additional instructional days. The program includes 10 extra summer days and five Saturday school sessions throughout the academic year, focusing on reading, math, and various extracurricular activities. Parents and students have expressed optimism about the additional learning opportunities, despite initial reservations about the earlier start.
