Survey Reveals Nearly Half of Nonretirees Doubt Full Retirement Feasibility
A survey conducted by Thrivent, in collaboration with Ipsos, reveals that nearly half of nonretirees in the U.S. are skeptical about their ability to fully retire. Despite 58% expressing confidence in retiring on schedule, many are concerned about the impact of artificial intelligence on job security and long-term retirement plans. The survey highlights that younger generations, particularly Gen Z and millennials, are more worried about AI reducing job opportunities. Additionally, economic factors such as inflation and geopolitical instability are affecting retirees' financial security. The survey also notes that many Americans prioritize current financial needs over retirement planning, with a significant portion feeling behind in their retirement savings due to high living costs and insufficient earnings.
