Projected Growth of Senior Populations in the U.S. and Globally by 2040
A recent analysis by the World Economic Forum, based on UN data, projects significant growth in senior populations globally by 2040. Countries with younger populations today, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, are expected to see the fastest growth in residents aged 65 and older. In contrast, countries like Japan, which already have older populations, will see slower growth. The U.S. is projected to experience a 28% increase in its senior population. This demographic shift is driven by declining fertility rates and rising life expectancy, reshaping age structures worldwide.
