Franklin County Launches 'Move for Mental Health' Initiative in May
Franklin County has initiated a campaign called 'Move for Mental Health' to promote physical activity as a means to enhance mental well-being. This initiative coincides with May being recognized as both Mental Health Awareness Month and Physical Activity Awareness Month. The campaign encourages residents to engage in various forms of movement, such as walking, stretching, and group activities, to reduce stress and improve mood. The county has officially declared May as Mental Health Month, emphasizing the importance of mental health. Activities are being organized through local YMCAs, parks, and the Franklin County Library System, which is offering a Move for Mental Health BINGO program.
