This surge is attributed to extreme weather conditions, including heavy rains and heatwaves, which have disrupted agricultural production. The phenomenon, known as 'climateflation,' is causing significant concern as it affects the cost of living and food security. The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation reports that prices for key agricultural products have risen compared to the previous month and year, highlighting the ongoing impact of climate change on food supply chains.
