Lexington Orders Fiber-Optic Company to Halt Operations After Gas Line Damage
In Lexington, South Carolina, a fiber-optic company, Kinetic Fiber Internet, has been ordered to cease operations following an incident where the company damaged multiple gas lines belonging to Dominion Energy. The damage included a significant 2-inch gas main break, which led to a shelter-in-place order for residents in parts of the Woodcreek neighborhood. The town's mayor, Hazel Livingston, emphasized the importance of protecting public safety and maintaining essential services. The stop work order will remain in place until a meeting is held between the Town of Lexington, Dominion Energy, and the Lexington County Fire Service to address the issues and prevent future disruptions.
