City of Ord Votes to Remove Flock Cameras Amid Privacy Concerns
The city council of Ord, Nebraska, has voted unanimously to remove two Flock cameras, becoming the first city in the state to reject this surveillance technology. Installed in late 2025, these cameras function as Automatic License Plate Readers, capturing vehicle information for law enforcement use. Despite their effectiveness in solving crimes, community members expressed privacy concerns, leading to the council's decision. The cameras remain operational as discussions continue with the county board and other stakeholders about their future.
