Captain Kate McCue Resigns from Four Seasons Yachts to Focus on Family
Captain Kate McCue, known for her pioneering role as the first female captain for Celebrity Cruises, has announced her resignation from Four Seasons Yachts. McCue joined Four Seasons Yachts less than two years ago as the inaugural captain of Four Season I. Her decision to step down comes after a series of personal events, including the sudden death of her mother in June and the passing of her beloved sphynx cat, Bug Naked, in late 2024. McCue expressed in a Facebook post that she has spent much of the past year away from home and now wishes to prioritize her family. She plans to help her father fulfill his bucket list, which includes cruising on various types of vessels. Despite her departure, McCue intends to keep her captain's license active, leaving open the possibility of returning to the sea in the future.
