U.S. Customs Seizes Nearly $4 Million in Counterfeit Goods in Houston
Federal authorities in Houston have intercepted nearly $4 million worth of counterfeit goods, including fake MLB and Nike apparel, Louis Vuitton bags, Cartier sunglasses, and Jaguar Land Rover computer systems. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport Trade Enforcement Team were responsible for the seizure. According to CBP, the items bore counterfeit versions of registered trademarks and were confirmed to be inauthentic by agency trade experts. Most of the shipments originated from China and were destined for locations within and outside the U.S. The seized items have a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $3.7 million.
