Christopher Nolan's Film Spurs Demand for 'The Odyssey' at Philadelphia Library
Christopher Nolan's latest film has sparked a renewed interest in Homer's ancient epic, 'The Odyssey,' at the Philadelphia Free Library. The film, inspired by University of Pennsylvania professor Emily Wilson's translation, has led to a significant increase in waitlists for the book in various formats. Currently, there are about 100 holds on 13 print copies of Wilson's translation, while the ebook waitlist has exceeded 400 holds. The library's collection includes 37 different versions of 'The Odyssey,' with over 200 ebook copies and 43 digital audiobooks available. Despite the high demand, an always-available ebook version helps mitigate wait times for eager readers.
