The Bay Area is experiencing a transition from wet conditions to warmer weather, with summerlike heat expected to intensify over the weekend. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, temperatures are predicted to reach widespread 80s°F (27°C) away from San Francisco Bay by Saturday, with low 90s°F (32°C) possible on Sunday. These well above-normal temperatures are likely to persist through midweek. San Francisco itself will likely remain in the 70s°F (21°C) during this period, while inland areas could see extreme temperatures for May standards. Sacramento might record its second-earliest triple-digit day on Sunday or Monday, with temperatures potentially hitting 100°F (38°C).
