GA-ASI and US Air Force Resume YFQ-42A Flight Testing After Software Fixes
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and the U.S. Air Force have resumed flight testing of the YFQ-42A Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) following software updates. The aircraft had been grounded due to an autopilot miscalculation that led to a mishap in April, resulting in the total loss of the aircraft. A joint review by the Air Force and GA-ASI identified the issue, leading to software enhancements. The YFQ-42A is part of a broader initiative to develop next-generation semi-autonomous combat aircraft, featuring a modular design for rapid integration of mission systems.
