Holland America Cruises Enhance Northern Lights Viewing Opportunities in 2026
Holland America Cruises is offering extended stays in Tromsø and Alta, Norway, to maximize opportunities for guests to view the northern lights. The cruises, scheduled for October and November 2026, coincide with a period of heightened solar activity, which is expected to produce some of the strongest aurora displays in over a decade. Guests will have the chance to spend up to 36 hours in Tromsø and 30 hours in Alta, engaging in activities such as guided northern lights adventures and cultural experiences. The cruises also offer the possibility of viewing the aurora from the ship, with minimal light pollution and long stretches of darkness at sea.
