Cisco and Connected Conservation Foundation Expand Wildlife Protection Efforts with Technology and Education
Cisco and the Connected Conservation Foundation (CCF) are expanding their partnership to protect endangered wildlife across Africa, moving beyond technological solutions to include human skills development. For over a decade, their collaboration has focused on deploying innovative technologies such as networking, connected sensors, smart cameras, and drones to combat poaching and other threats in 46 conservancies across 15 countries. The next phase of this initiative emphasizes empowering local communities through education and opportunity. This includes the launch of a free, online Protected Area Technician Training Program through Cisco Networking Academy. This program aims to equip local community members with the skills needed to deploy and maintain conservation technologies, fostering new career paths and creating local champions for wildlife protection.
