Pentagon Maintains Blacklist on Anthropic Amid National Security Concerns
The Department of Defense (DOD) continues to classify Anthropic as a supply chain risk, citing national security concerns. This designation affects the use of Anthropic's technology, particularly its Claude models, by defense contractors. The DOD's Chief Technology Officer, Emil Michael, highlighted that while Anthropic remains blacklisted, its Mythos model, known for advanced cyber capabilities, is considered a separate issue. The DOD seeks to establish guardrails for using such technologies to ensure network security.
