UK Government Allocates £7.3m for Zero-Emission Aviation Projects
The UK Government has announced a £7.3 million funding boost for eight projects focused on zero-emission aviation as part of its zero-emission flight demonstrator competition. This initiative aims to support technologies such as electric aircraft charging, hydrogen storage, and the development of flying taxis. Notable recipients include aerospace manufacturers BETA Technologies and Vertical Aerospace, which will receive up to £3.2 million to scale their solutions commercially. This funding is part of a broader £43 million package dedicated to low-carbon aviation innovation, reflecting the government's commitment to reducing aviation emissions and fostering economic growth through technological advancement.
