Shaker Square Redesign Approved to Enhance Public Spaces and Residential Development
The Shaker Square Vision Plan, aimed at revitalizing Cleveland's historic Shaker Square, has been approved by the City Planning Commission. The plan includes significant upgrades to pedestrian portals, signage, and bike infrastructure, as well as improved transit connections. Developed in collaboration with Agency Landscaping + Planning of Cambridge, MA, the plan seeks to respect the square's historical significance while modernizing it for future use. The redesign will activate green spaces, enhance parking, and improve public spaces to attract more visitors and businesses. Additionally, the plan proposes new residential developments, including single-family homes and multifamily buildings, to increase the local population and support the area's economic growth.
