China Box Office Sees 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' Take Top Spot
Universal's 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' has debuted at the top of the China box office, earning RMB57.1 million ($8.3 million) over the April 3-5 weekend. This marks a strong opening for the film, which is part of a broader trend of video game adaptations gaining popularity. Other films in the top five include 'It's OK', 'Project Hail Mary', 'Now I Met Her', and 'Game of Identity', with varying degrees of success. The overall box office revenue in China for the weekend reached $39.5 million.
