Rovex and BayCare Collaborate on In-Hospital Transport Robots to Enhance Patient Care
Rovex and BayCare Health System have initiated a strategic partnership to explore the use of robotics in hospital operations, specifically focusing on patient transport workflows. The pilot program, launched at BayCare's Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, aims to address the challenges of patient movement within hospitals, which can impact imaging and procedural workflows, staff workload, and patient experience. Rovex, founded by Dr. David Crabb, is developing autonomous technology to improve hospital throughput and operational capacity. The phased pilot will run for about seven months, starting with workflow evaluation and gradually expanding to more active hospital environments.
