Storm Chances Increase as Heat Persists in Baton Rouge
The weather pattern in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is shifting slightly, with increased storm chances expected later this week. According to The Storm Station, an upper-level trough is moving through the region, which could bring more thunderstorms by Friday. Currently, heat index values are ranging between 108°F and 115°F (42°C to 46°C), prompting an Extreme Heat Warning near the lakes and a Heat Advisory for other areas, including metro Baton Rouge. Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, particularly near the lakes and southwest Mississippi, while areas farther west may see fewer storms. The tropics remain quiet, with no tropical development expected in the Atlantic Basin over the next seven days.
