Bremerton Fast Ferry Service Faces Significant Reductions Amid Funding Cuts
Kitsap Transit has announced a 35% reduction in weekday fast ferry trips between Bremerton and Seattle, effective September 1. This decision follows the end of supplemental state funding that had supported additional services during the pandemic. The reduction will decrease the number of daily round trips from 20 to 13, creating significant service gaps. The state legislature's decision not to fund fast ferries as a long-term solution has led to these cuts, impacting commuters who rely on the faster service compared to traditional ferries.
