Springfield Public Schools Initiate Phased Laptop Recovery Following Cyberattack
Springfield Public School officials have begun a phased recovery process for thousands of staff and student laptops after a cyberattack earlier this month led to school closures. District spokesperson Azell Cavaan stated that the district has transitioned from an emergency response to a deliberate, phased recovery, which includes schools reopening, essential services functioning, and now a large-scale effort to securely restore laptops. The process involves reimaging devices to reset them fully and strengthen security before they are returned to service. This work will be conducted in phases, prioritizing operational and instructional needs.
