FDA Clears Beta Bionics' Mint Insulin Patch Pump, Integrating with CGMs
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted clearance to Beta Bionics Inc. for its new Mint insulin patch pump. This device represents a novel type of insulin delivery system, featuring a reusable and disposable architecture that eliminates the need for recharging. The Mint pump is designed for seamless integration with popular continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), specifically the Dexcom G7, Dexcom G7 15 Day, and Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus. Furthermore, it offers connectivity with both iOS and Android smartphones, enhancing user convenience and data accessibility. Beta Bionics anticipates a commercial launch for the Mint in the first quarter of 2027, with distribution exclusively through pharmacy channels.
