Miami Launches Online Portal for City Employee Salaries, Enhancing Transparency
The city of Miami has introduced a new online portal that allows the public to access salary information for city employees. This initiative was announced by Miami District 3 Commissioner Rolando Escalona, who had promised to enhance transparency during his campaign. The portal provides a user-friendly interface for residents to view salary data, which was previously accessible only through cumbersome public records requests. The database includes details such as the highest-paid city employees, with City Manager James Reyes earning $475,000 annually, followed by City Attorney George Wysong at $417,642.12. The portal also shows year-to-date gross pay and years of service for each employee, although it does not include total annual compensation, which can be higher due to additional perks.
