Montana Man Pleads Not Guilty to Threatening Hawaii Governor and Family
Eric Lee Boltz, a 51-year-old man from Montana, entered a plea of not guilty in Honolulu federal court on Friday to charges of cyberstalking and four counts of transmitting threats in interstate commerce. Boltz is accused of sending antisemitic death threats to Hawaii Governor Josh Green and his family. Court records indicate that Boltz allegedly left nine voicemails with the governor’s office in December, containing curses and threats to kill Governor Green and harm his family members. During the arraignment, a judge granted the government's request to detain Boltz without bail, and he remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. Jury selection and the trial are tentatively scheduled to begin on November 3, with a trial conference set for October 22.
