Indiana Borough, Pennsylvania, Police Issue Safety Reminder After Handgun Report Near IUP
The Indiana Borough Police Department in Indiana, Pennsylvania, has issued a safety reminder to college-aged individuals following an incident early Sunday morning. Around 12:45 a.m., a college-aged woman encountered a man on Rice Avenue who appeared to possess a handgun. The two individuals spoke briefly before the man was called away by friends. Police clarified that the woman was not threatened with the weapon, nor was it pointed at her. Investigators are currently seeking videos from the area, which is near Indiana University of Pennsylvania and reportedly had a consistent pedestrian presence throughout the night, to gather more information about the event. No other similar incidents were reported during the night.
